Congratulations to Denis @lukovnikov for successfully defending his PhD thesis today! Denis worked on deep learning for question answering and semantic parsing. He analysed & improved transfer learning, compositionality and generalisation of large-scale machine learning models.

My colleagues at @FraunhoferIAIS adapted our speech recognition system for usage at the Saxon State Parliament (@sax_lt) - it is used there for live subtitling speeches. Below is a short report (German) of the TV station @MDR_aktuell on how the system learned regional dialects.
