Fixing the problem requires organizations of people who are not reporting through to the company's CEO.

The moral of the story here is this: If a tech company is publicly saying that it will take care of its own discrimination problems internally, they're not actually saying they'll work on seriously fixing the problem.

"Pinterest has agreed to create an office of an ombudsman to respond to employee complaints." Who is the ombudsman beholden to? If the answer is "Pinterest" then this can mean at best nothing, but more worryingly, it can mean a way to target people with complaints.

Great article on the work of @IfeomaOzoma, who is such a force in stopping the rampant discrimination in tech right now. One of the people I respect the most this year. She is a pivotal part of this puzzle. A Tech Whistle-Blower Helps Others Speak Out https://t.co/TUlGTboFLa

This is a good overview of the tech activism that has been going on at different tech companies from @AngelAuYeung .

This is strategically really well done by @cherthedev, pinpointing public false & misleading statements Apple was making to the SEC at the moment it crossed with her actual experience. https://t.co/SV0XesIE3B

Another impressive article from @_KarenHao walking through how misinformation is incentivized ar ad-based companies (FB Google). Worse: The promises of improvements are limited to high-resource languages; non-English speakers may be indefinitely doomed to harmful propaganda.
